Arthurs Day Celebrations Take Place All Over Ireland

Yesterday was Arthur Guinness Day…a day to celebrate the man Arthur Guinness who created the beer that has been enjoyed all over the world for over 250 years!

This year the focus has shifted from a straightforward music festival to a larger celebration of all Irish and international talent, with acts such as The Script, the Original Rude Boys and Janelle Monae performing in venues up and down the country! What remains though is the element of surprise, with many internationally renowned acts due to turn up to perform in random pubs without audiences knowing which one they will be at!

A relatively new celebration, which asked that at 17.59 yesterday, everyone around the world, raises a glass to “Arthur” and toast those who make things happen! This celebration, which began 4 years ago to mark the 250th anniversary of Guinness, has became an annual event surrounded by controversy as debate take places whether it is a clever marketing ploy or a celebration of talent and the Irish Pub!

Last night – Arthurs Day celebrators enjoyed events in over 500 venues ,with some unsuspecting audiences enjoying surprise acts The Script, Emili Sande and Bobby Womack in Dublin, whereas in Cork, popular Kodaline entertained at a venue in the city, hours after they had appeared at the Guinness Store House in Dublin.

I wish i could be there in Ireland during the festive season. My sister was there in Ireland during the Arthur Guinness day and she told me all about all the fun she had. She specially mentioned about her great experience with the Lufthansa airline. My sister has now booked me tickets with Lufthansa to fly to Paris next week. Super excited!
