For those planning a vacation in Ireland over the coming twelve months then why not delve in to a year-long programme showcasing the Irish design and innovation at its very best. The year long celebration entitled Irish Design 2015 will be based in Dublin City and comprise a series of special events in Ireland, celebration activities, exhibitions plus much much more.
Irish Design 2015 runs from the 1st January until 31st December offering a truly unique platform for designers from Ireland to exhibit the huge, and often undervalued, impact that design has in every facet of Irish life.
Ireland has long been recognised for its creative strengths in design in sectors such as architecture, computer and motion picture animation as well as the design of medical devices. From the outset the ID2015 programme of events and activities aims at encouraging a greater proportion of the general public, local businesses and organisations to invest in design and the creative process. Ultimately, ID2015 seeks to promote Ireland’s talents and reputation to a much broader international audience
The year long programme throughout Dublin promises to be a veritable treasure trove of discovery for visitors and locals alike. Some of the programmes’ highlight events include:
- In the Making at Dublin Castle
- Ireland’s International Creative Expo at the RDS
- The Genius of Everyday Things
- Irish Design Here/Now
