Visitors to Ireland are being urged to embark on a social media detox and unwind with a relaxing getaway along The Wild Atlantic Way.
Fáilte Ireland launched a new autumn campaign entitled ‘Embrace the Wild Atlantic Way of Life’, which was launched across the country’s local radio stations and billboards during the autumn period.
Since its launch in 2014, The Wild Atlantic Way has been a major success story for Fáilte Ireland. Less than one year later, Ireland saw its best year ever for overseas tourism, with people from all over the world enchanted by the west coast’s rugged charm and breath-taking hotspots.
CSO figures for 2015 indicated that the number of people taking a vacation in Ireland were up 11 per cent resulting in over €4.2 billion in revenue to the local economy. With a further €300,000 investment in the pipeline for one of the Aran Islands, Inishmore is set to reap even more benefits from the development of a restaurant, takeaway and prime building site.
More than 40,000 musical fanatics are set to sing the blues at this year’s Guinness Cork Jazz Festival.
Kicking off on October 28th, the highly-anticipated annual music festival will celebrate unique jazzy sounds and voices from all over the world throughout the bank holiday weekend.
Donegal’s popular Harvey’s Point was recently announced as Ireland’s Hotel of the Year at the 2017 Georgina Campbell Awards. The popular Donegal four-star hotel, also Ireland’s No.1 on TripAdvisor won the prestigious award for its stunning location and accommodation facilities as well as its fine dining waterside restaurant. At the opposite end of the country, the Good Things @ Dillon’s Corner Restaurant in Skibbereen won the coveted “Restaurant of the Year” award. If you are taking a vacation in Ireland this weekend, then a visit to 37th annual Cork Folk Festival is a must. The much-awaited festival runs until Sunday the 2nd of October and is set to showcase some of Ireland’s great musical acts in a range of venues around Cork city.
The summer months may have come and gone but Dingle will be coming alive for the 10th annual Dingle Food Festival between 30th September and 2nd October 2016.
The scenic County Kerry town will be hosting a variety of events including food workshops and cookery demos to art trails, whiskey and wine tasting and the Blás na hÉireann Food Awards. The festival will also have a full line up for children so there should be plenty to keep the whole family occupied.
