Limerick Tag Rugby Festival Pig ‘N’ Porter 2012

The Pig ‘N’ Porter Festival in Limerick is a one day event that happens every July.

Now in its 11th Year and proudly sponsored once again by Heinz, the 2012 Pig ‘n’ Porter Festival in association with the Irish Tag Rugby Association (ITRA) will be hosted by Old Crescent RFC and take place in their grounds in Rosbrien, Limerick on Saturday 14th July.

A festival of strong tradition, with delicious food and great live music, this festival is the largest tag rugby event in Ireland, if not the world, and attracts huge numbers year on year, with some 130 participating teams take part in the Tag Rugby Competition from around the globe.

Whether here on vacation in Ireland and coinciding the trip with this festival or travelling from the UK and further afield specifically for the festival, over the years it has brought large number of visitors to Limerick for the weekend, and it is always a huge success.

This year looks set to be no difference as it’s expected that in excess of 4,500 people will attend this festival, which begins on Friday night with a welcome party, before the main event on the Saturday, when the Pig ‘n’ Porter Tag Rugby Festival gets underway contested by 130 teams, this fun day of tag rugby, live music and delicious foods also includes the iconic pig roasting…and keep an eye out for a few special guests due to be attendance too!
