With multiple light and aerial shows planned including live concerts, street performances and entertainment, the New Years Eve Festival in Dublin is sure to entertain all.
Headlining the live concert is top Irish act Kodaline as well as Hudson Taylor and Keywest. At midnight one of Dublin’s famous monuments, “the Spire” will light up, beaming light across Dublin city.
Earlier on the evening of the 31st a family friendly show will kick off at 6:30pm with the Liffey Lights Midnight Moment Matinee starting at the earlier time of 6:30pm.
New Year’s Day will also see street performers, mime artists, stilt walkers, jugglers, face painting and acrobats spread out across the city for a family fun day. Running from 12 noon until 4pm, a range of award winning performers is set to perform at the popular New Year’s Day concert including the brilliant Garda Band, The Line Up Choir and the Hit Machine Drummers and much much more.
Keelin Fagan, Head of Dublin for Fáilte Ireland, said: “This year’s festival has an action-packed programme with spectacular, welcoming and fun events planned over the two days with something for everyone”. She added: “For the first time ever, visitors will be treated to the unique visual spectacle of the Liffey Lights Midnight Moment.”
