The summer schedule for Cork Airport has been unveiled and this year of the Irish Gathering 2013 the Munster airport will have more than 2 million seats available to Cork from more than 50 destinations in the UK and Europe.
A record number for the airport, the availability of 2 million seats sees a more diverse array of destinations serviced and is a reflection of the demand for routes to the popular area of Cork for both business and leisure. With a vast array of hotels in Cork to choose from there has not been a better time than now to plan your Cork break.
Airlines that added additional routes include Ryanair, who added a further 6 routes to those announced pre Christmas including Milan, Bordeaux, Carcossonne, Girona, La Rochelle and Pisa, and a 5 extra scheduled services to Gdansk, Krakow, Vilnius, Warsaw and Wroclaw, which compared to the same period last year means the airline is offering an additional 130,000 seats from Cork airport this summer and a total of 717,000 seats across all flights. In addition Aer Lingus will operate services daily to Faro and Malaga and the frequency of service to Barcelona will be increased meaning the airline will provide 1.1 million seats from Cork this summer.
With plenty events planned to be taking part up and down the country this year, the increase in flight availability and diversity of destinations that can be travelled to and from Cork airport is great news for locals and visitors booking Ireland Vacations, as it offers alternative options for arriving in to Ireland, which could make journey times shorter and journeys easier.
