The Brittany sailings between Roscoff in France and Cork resumed this weekend for the 2013 season. Operating every Friday from Roscoff and every Saturday from Cork until November, the flagship MV Pont Aven will ferry passengers to and from Cork in comfort, ensuring visitors travelling for Ireland Vacations from France and mainland Europe arrive rested and ready to enjoy their trip here in the emerald isle.
Departing at 20:30 from Roscoff on Friday evenings, arriving in Cork at 09:30 on Saturday morning, the crossing takes 14 hours on the luxurious MV Pont Aven, which boast comfortable cabins, restaurants, shops and on board entertainment including swimming pool and leisure area.
Accessing both Roscoff and Cork ports is easy, as both have excellent access roads that are clearly signposted and Cork is an ideal arrival location for exploring the country on your Self Drive Ireland Vacation, offering convenient access to the East and West of Ireland.
It seems that 2013 is a year of celebration all round, as not only is it the Irish Gathering but Brittany Ferries celebrates both its 40th anniversary and 35 years of the sailing route between Roscoff and Cork this year too!
It’s been 40 years already? Amazing. I remember when the company started up and it felt like yesterday 🙂 I actually just checked and it’s 41 years 😛
