For those you on vacation in Ireland who are probably experiencing a rare spot of summer weather at present with blue cloudless skies dominating the horzon. and the sweltering temperatures appear to be visible as far afield as space.
The photo was taken by first time astronaut, Reid Wiseman, a US Navy Commander from Maryland. Wiseman is the latest astronaut to man the International Space Station (ISS) and posted the fantastic image of the Emerald Isle as seen from space on Monday, 16th June.

The photo clearly shows just a handful of clouds covering the south-west of the country from his perfect vantage point on the International Space Station.
“It is still impossible to wrap my head around the view. Just saw every place I’ve ever lived in 10 minutes,” Wiseman added.
Wiseman is currently living on the ISS and is travelling in low earth orbit, documenting his journey on Twitter.
He is one of six men living aboard the station, a $100 billion research laboratory that flies about 418 km above Earth.
Previous tweeting astronauts include two-time shuttle veteran and Hubble Space Telescope repairman Mike Massimino (1.3 million followers online) and former station commander Chris Hadfield of Canada, who has nearly 1.1 million followers on Twitter.
