Surf history will again be made in Ireland as the return of the ASP Europe Speciality Surfing event festival happens later this month on 29th and 30th June and 1st July 2012 in Bundoran, County Donegal.
Firmly placing Ireland as one the world’s best surfing destinations and with Ireland’s largest cash prize in surfing on offer, a music line up to rival any other festival and an abundance of activities to take part in, Sea Sessions 2012 looks set to be the year’s biggest beach party.
Attracting Surfers from all over the globe, such as Alan Stokes, Cain Kilcullan and Reubyn Ash, the Barefoot Expression Session, is an invite only event run in association with Billabong that judges the ‘best move’ of top surfers from around the world.
Not only a festival for surfers, Seas Sessions will again have action sports such as Skate and BMX displays, and crowds will be entertained by the extreme sporting thrill seekers who will tackle the elaborate purpose built courses! There will also be beach sports, such as beach soccer, tag rugby and beach handball.
And if all the surfing and sports was not enough the Sea Sessions Surf Musical Festival brings you the best of music and a line up which includes both top Irish and international musicians such as; Happy Mondays, Kaiser Chiefs, Rev Run (run D.M.C.) & dj ruckus (dj set), The Coronas, Fujiya & Miyagi, The Minutes, Kenny Dope, Beardyman, Krafty Kuts, Delorentos, Hot 8 brass band, Jape, The Unabombers, Crazy P, and many, many more.
If travelling over specifically for this festival or here on an Independent Ireland Vacation and planning to be near the area of Bundoran in County Donegal at the end of this month, this is one festival that you will not want to miss. There is also plenty of accommodation options, with the official Sea Sessions Festival Campsite located centrally off the Main Street of Bundoran and not far from the Bundoran Surf Company. The main campsite is for those aged 18 years old or older, but there is a family friendly campsite and children are very welcome to this family friendly festival with under 12s going free. If camping is not for you, then there is a range of holiday homes, hotels, guest house, youth hostels and surf lodges in the area.
