Visitors from all over Ireland and here on Ireland vacations are in for a real treat as Airfield Estate in Dundrum, Dublin travels back in time.
The charitable organisation established in 1974 by the Overend family for education and recreational purposes and boasts a farm, gardens, café and heritage experience is undergoing a phased reopening to give a glimpse into the life of the family who has called the impressive grounds home for years and years.
Whilst most of the estate is ready and available for visitors, the reopening of Airfield will occur on a phased basis from October through to Spring 2014.
Offering visitors the chance to explore photographs, letters, a doll house and other personal memorabilia that has been gathered by members of the Overend family over the past century or so, visitors to Airfield will feel that they have stepped back in to a time similar to Downtown as they view the many items and artefacts to be displayed at Airfield.
The newly revamped Airfield Estate is located in Dundrum, Dublin and admission times from September to April are 09:30 – 17:00 (last admissions at 16:00).
