Each year on 26th September, a toast is made to remember Arthur Guinness, by those who knew him or of him, however in more recent years on the evening on the 26th September, a toast takes place in cities around the world as glasses of the black stuff are raised in celebration, and the world remembers Arthur Guinness the man who founded the Dublin brewery back in 1759.
For all of us in Ireland, and for those here on Ireland Vacations, the celebrations here on 26th September are magnificent, with 500 or more free music events, 1,000 or so music acts and creative showcase events taking place in the bars and clubs throughout the emerald isle!
With surprise acts turning up in locations around the country and no one really knowing who they might get to see play in their local, and yet again this year has attracted some of the biggest names in music with some of this year’s confirmed headline acts as follows; Bobby Womack, Bouts, Biffy Clyro, Daley, Emile Sande, Girl Band, Ham Sandwich, James Vincent McMorrow, Janelle Monae, Kodaline, Manic Street Preachers, The Original Rudeboys and The Script.
With more artists being announced almost daily and some additional ticketed music events taking place in pubs in Belfast, Dublin, Limerick and Cork, this year, with surprises-a-plenty in store and with no one really sure who will turn up to play where, Arthur’s Day looks to be a night of celebrations not to be missed.
