From the 8th to the 9th of June, Daingean in Co. Offaly is the place to be as you will be taken back to medieval times. This truly spectacular festival will give revelers the opportunity to experience medieval past times and visuals. Archery, butter churning and basket weaving are just a few of the many activities you can try as well as viewing medieval battle re-enactments, a straw hut settlement lamb roasting on an open fire, homemade potato bread cooked on a skillet over a naked flame.
You will also get the chance to watch a blacksmith make horse shoes as well as a trip on a horse drawn vehicle. Revelers are invited to come to the festival dressed in full medieval costume while on their Ireland vacations if possible!
There are also some other fun weekend events planned such as a surf ‘n’ turf on Saturday with exciting activities such as canoeing, kayaking and water polo which will be followed by a scrumptious BBQ.
