The original “high nelly” bicycle used by Michael Collins has been discovered and will along with other high nellys tour Ireland as part of an exhibition.
The famous bicycle that was custom made in 1919 for the Irish revolutionary leader was finally tracked down, following a trail of leads that begin in Collins birth town of Clonakilty.
The bike which is on loan to the touring exhibition will feature alongside other rare items including wooden pedals, World War II Black-Out bike lights and bikes that date back as far as the early 1900s.
For all locals and tourists here on Ireland Vacations that would like to view the famous artefacts on display in the exhibition, it will begin in Limerick on 14th September at the Elemental Festival.
