New Irish tourism strategy aimed at Australian market

Tourism Ireland is seeking to grow the number of visitors from Australia enjoying a holiday in Ireland by almost 20% with the launch a new three year promotional strategy.

It is hoped that visitor numbers will reach as many as 200,000 by 2017 as a result of the campaign. It is estimated that the number of visitors who have made the trip to Ireland from Australia has grown by more than 40% since 2010, reaching 180,000 last year.

Tourism Ireland’s new Game of Thrones campaign

Tourism Ireland has joined forces with HBO and it’s TV series Game of Thrones in a bid to further promote Ireland and Northern Ireland as a destination to visit. This new campaign is set to run for 14 weeks and it follows on from the widely successful 2014 campaign which generated almost one million clicks, comments and shares with a reach of almost 100 million fans around the world.

Ireland’s Ancient East to be launched as follow up to the Wild Atlantic Way

Following on from the success of the Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland, Tourism Minister Paschal Donohoe has unveiled Fáilte Ireland’s latest tourism initiative: a campaign called “Ireland’s Ancient East” which aims to attract people taking a trip to Ireland to the south east.  The new initiative’s goal is to attract 600,000 foreign visitors to the regularly by-passed South East Coast and South Coast of Ireland.

Belfast Film Festival

Belfast city is set to come alive over the next few days with the annual Belfast Film Festival which is set to take place until the 25th April.

The festival which is popular with people taking a vacation in Ireland is set to show over 100 film screenings in various venues across all quarters of the city including Belfast Waterfront, Queen’s Film Theatre, Movie House Dublin Road, Duncairn Centre and many more.
