Galway City will be hosting a special festival to celebrate the great works of Ireland’s literary greats, Oscar Wilde, taking place between Friday and Sunday, 5th to 7th September.  The Oscar Wilde Festival is now in its second year and is the only festival dedicated to the writer in Ireland.

The Annual Cape Clear Storytelling Festival

Situated off the South West coast of Ireland, Cape Clear Island is Ireland’s southernmost inhabited island, located just 8 miles off the coast of Baltimore in West Cork.  Now in its 20th year, the annual Storytelling Festival takes places from the 5th until the 7th September.  In beautiful surroundings, it is a festival where Irish and International storytellers and musicians meet to perform.  The scenery, folklore and uniqueness of the island set this festival apart from other festivals.

The Croke Park Classic encounter: UCF Knights V Penn State

The exciting Croke Park Classic is the first in a series of American College Football games for Dublin, whereby teams will compete for the coveted Dan Rooney Trophy, named after the former US Ambassador to Ireland and Chairman of the Pittsburgh Steelers.  The trophy is made of bog yew, the remains of forests which grew 4,200 years ago in the Irish midlands as well as Pittsburgh steel.
