Blarney Summer Garden Fair

Where: Blarney Castle
Time: 10am to 5pm

Blarney Castle will host their annual Summer Garden Fair which will include garden talks, specialist plant nurseries and demonstrations from celebrity speakers, arts and crafts, birds of prey and a farmers market.

The whole family will be catered for as the garden fair will also boast children’s entertainment. Entry also includes free access to the castle grounds and gardens.

Celtic Series Tour de Conamara May 2013

The Celtic Series Tour began on 13th April in Brittany France with the Tro Bro Leon over a course known as “Mini Paris Roubaix” before continuing to the stop in Wales on 27th April with the Tour of Pembrokeshire, a  picturesque route through the valleys, mountains and rugged West Wales coastline. Its next stop is here in Ireland on 25th May with the Tour de Conamara, a spectacular coastal and mountain route in our wonderful west, after which it moves on to the final leg of the series in the Isle of Man on the 7th July for the Lighthouse Challenge, a 16km coastal loop!

New Study Says Young Irish Women are ‘Most Optimistic’

Despite the changing times of late, a new study has found that people from Ireland are the most optimistic.

The study has found that Irish people, young women in particular, are the most optimistic when it comes to looking at their future/career over any other nationality. New Seaport Alliance between Irish and American Port

It has been announced this week that the Port of Cork, in Southern Ireland, will form a seaport alliance with PortMiami, USA.  The link between the two ports will mean a lot for the Irish port in particular as they have a lot to learn from PortMiami which is nicknamed the “Cruise Capital of the World”. PortMiami boasts impressive figures with 60 cruise liners bringing 100,000 passengers and crew to the region. In the agreement the two ports will be exchanging information and ideas with the intention of increasing both cargo and cruise trade between the two well known ports. Continue reading
