Failte Ireland’s 2020 Tourism Plans

Fáilte Ireland have just revealed its tourism plans for 2020 which is based on five key action points which will challenge the economic period the country is entering.
It’s aim is to invest 6 million in a new domestic and Northern Ireland marketing campaign with the aim of attracting more people on Ireland tours and short break domestic trips including golf vacations.

There is also a further 12 million earmarked for 25 new and enhanced visitor attractions throughout Ireland. Much of the investment will be focused on regional areas in a bid to help drive holiday makers and group vacations to lesser known areas and attractions.

Number of tourists visiting Ireland rises yet again

Figures just released from the Central Statistics Office are showing an almost 8% increase in the number of overseas people taking a trip to Ireland. According to the CSO recent figures show that there were more than 6 million people taking a vacation in Ireland in the first 7 months of 2018 which is an increase of 7.8% compared to the same period in 2017.

Ireland’s New Tourism Brand

Overseas visits of people taking trips to Ireland have risen by 7.6 % for the first 5 months in Ireland in 2018 and it now looks very possible that the ongoing tourist season will deliver another record breaking year with regards to revenue. Mainland Europe and North American markets have both increased by 12 % and arrivals from the United Kingdom have increased by 2.4% regardless of the fall in sterling and Brexit scares.

Dublin Airport expecting record summer with 14 additional routes
