Only a month away, The Rose of Tralee Festival, one of Ireland’s largest and longest running festivals, which is based around the selection of the Rose of Tralee, an international event that encompasses young women of Irish descent from Ireland and around the world will take place from the 17th – 21st August 2012.
The Festival which includes The Rose of Tralee Selection, family carnival, fashion show, live concert s as well as much more, as the streets of Tralee become a wash with parades, music, entertainment and markets, attracts visitors from around the world year on year, all of whom descend to picturesque Kerry to combine an Ireland Vacation with the Rose of Tralee Festival.
Each year the festival and competition attracts more than 30 international Roses to Tralee, from countries such as Australia, America, Canada, New Zealand, the UK, Europe, the Middle East and of course from many counties here in Ireland, all of whom are here to compete for the much sought after title of Rose of Tralee.
Opening with the International Rose Ball, attended by over 900 guests on the 17th August, this is chance for the Rose’s and guests to enjoy an evening of fine food, live music and dancing. This is followed on Saturday 18th August by the Gift Grub and its first live stage production. On Sunday 19th August, it is the always popular Kerryman / Irish Independent Rose of Tralee Fashion Show, definitely one for the fashionistas, this event showcases the designs and collections of top name designers.
The Final 2 nights of the Festival – 20th and 21st August, all eyes are on the 2000-seater Festival Dome, as RTE broadcasts live the Rose of Tralee Selection and the world wonders who will be crowned this year’s Rose.
