In just over a month, at the start of February 2013, Dublin will be celebrating the best in Chinese Irish Culture and Entertainment as the Dublin Chinese New Year Festival welcomes the year of the snake.
Committed to showcasing Chinese culture and heritage, the DCNYF (Dublin Chinese New Year Festival) is dedicated to showcasing the best of Sino Irish Culture in Ireland, and as Dublin builds on its twinning with Beijing, the DCNFY aims to bring the 2013 celebrations to a wider audience, building on the success of the festivals in the past 5 years.
Celebrating the year of the snake and the 4711th year of the Chinese calendar, the festival will includes the Chinese Film Festival in the Lighthouse Dublin and regional locations, with the main Chinese New Year’s Day carnival taking place in Temple Bar Meeting House Square, and which will include Traditional Dragon and Lion Dances, Martial Arts and Chinese and Irish Music and Dance, as well as much more family entertainment and exhibitions.
