It’s been revealed that over 1,500 events will be staged throughout Ireland next year by local communities, family groups and local organisations as part of the Irish Gathering 2013.
Announced during a special reception for the launch of the Irish Gathering 2013 within the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin yesterday, it was confirmed that 1,500 Gatherings will take place consisting of both established events as well new events such as a festival dedicated to left-handed people!
Kicking off with the New Year celebrations in Dublin this New Year’s Eve, the Irish Gathering 2013 looks set to be an exciting time in Ireland, and with some events and festivals hoping to break some world records such as the attempt for bearded men, which will see at least 1,000 men with beards line up in the main street of the village of Ballymoe in County Galway to break the existing Guinness Book of Records for having the largest number of bearded men in one place!
These quirky events really have captured the imagination, and interest in these events is just as prolific as the interest in the long standing sporting, agricultural, arts and music festivals. So whether a leftie, a bearded man or just wanting to be part of another unusual event or major festival during the Irish Gathering 2013, make sure you discover what’s happening here before you embarked on your vacation in Ireland.
