The Spraoi International Arts Festival will be taking place from 2nd – 4th August in Waterford City and yet again the streets of the city will come alive with arts, entertainment, music and performances for the whole family!
Featuring performers, musicians and entertainers from around the world as well as from here in Ireland, Spraoi, or spree as it is pronounced, is the Irish word for fun, exuberance and celebration and there is sure to be plenty of this to be had at Spraoi 2013 over the August bank holiday weekend by all locals and visitors on Ireland vacation!
A majority of the events during the Spraoi International Arts Festival are free and during the long weekend there are many things to be enjoyed, in particular the renowned Spraoi Parade, which this year will be Flotsam and Jetsam – a maritime themed event that features whales, sharks and other aquatic species. Taking place on Sunday from 9:30pm, the Parade is staged along a 1.5km route through Waterford City centre and year-on-year it attracts thousands of spectators.
Expect to be inspired and amazed this year at Spraoi 2013, as it celebrates its 21st Birthday this year and it looks set to be one of the brightest and dazzling celebrations of the year and of the Irish Gathering.
