As the leading dance event on the Irish cultural calender, the Dublin Dance Festival returns to the nations capital from the 19th to 30th May 2015. The annual festival attracts dance artists and choreographers from across the globe to convene in Dublin City to celebrate and showcase contemporary dance with local and those on Ireland vacations.
Since its inception in 2002 , the Dublin Dance Festival has grown steadily ever since, becoming bigger and better each year and this year’s festival promises to be no different! The 2015 festival programme includes Meg Stuart, who is widely regarded as one of the leading world figures in contemporary dance.
Stuart will open the festival supported by her company Damaged Goods as they perform a cutting edge piece involving a group of dancers against a tidal wave of immense classical and contemporary music. The festival will also see the best of Irish talent on display when Liz Roche performs Bastard Amber – inspired by WB Yeats.
