2016 Food and Wine Magazine Restaurant Awards

The much awaited Food and Wine Magazine Restaurant of the Year Awards were recently announced at the Inter Continental Dublin last week. With more than fifty awards and now in its 16th year, the prestigious awards are considered one of the top culinary awards in the Irish calendar.

Ideal for those planning on taking a trip to Ireland, these prestigious awards are for many the foundation of restaurants and eateries to be visited whilst taking a vacation in Ireland. Diners from the length and breadth of Ireland were invited to nominate their favourite restaurants and chefs.

More than 50 awards were given to top chefs and restaurateurs in all provinces in Ireland with the Michelin Star Dublin restaurant, Patrick Guildaud winning the coveted Best Overall Restaurant award. Ireland’s only female Michelin star chef, Danni Barry of Deanes Epic in Belfast also taking the top award of Overall Chef of the Year award.

Regionally, Deanes Eipic Restaurant in Belfast again tipped not only the coveted Overall Chef of the Year award but they also won the Best Restaurant in Ulster title. A regular award winner, Greenes Restaurant, situated in McCurtain Street Cork won the Best Restaurant in Munster award. West along in County Galway, Aniar Restaurant in County Galway won the Best Restaurant award and Lady Helen in Mount Juliet Estate, Kilkenny won Best Restaurant in Leinster.
