37th Annual Cork Folk Festival

If you are taking a vacation in Ireland this weekend, then a visit to 37th annual Cork Folk Festival is a must. The much-awaited festival runs until Sunday the 2nd of October and is set to showcase some of Ireland’s great musical acts in a range of venues around Cork city.

A now annual event, the four-day music event is packed with Ireland’s finest traditional musicians, dancers, singers as well as some of the best folk and traditional acts Ireland has to offer. Founded back in 1979 and growing a strong reputation across Europe, the 35 year-old festival is now regarded as the most exciting and much awaited folk and traditional music events in Ireland.

These exciting performances will take place in various venues, concert halls and a range of impromptu music events are set to take place on the streets of Cork over the weekend. Festival highlights include Mick Flannery, Lynched and the Northumbrian band the Unthanks, featuring sisters Rachel and Becky Unthank.
