A bird’s eye view of Cork City

If you are planning on taking a vacation in Cork over the next few months, then viewing the recent stunning aerial footage of Cork is a must. A drone has recently swooped along the famous River Lee capturing scenes of Cork city’s landmarks including the Shandon Bells, Blackrock Castle, passing ships as well as a wind turbine’s assembly. Complete with a motion picture-style soundtrack, the video is a must watch.

The aerial footage was commissioned by Cork based media company Dog Day Media, who teamed up with SkyTec Ireland to film the video. The drone footage focused on the valuable port and industry sectors of Cork. Steve Slade, SEO of Skytec told the Irish Examiner extra care and attention was needed to shoot the footage from an unmanned drone.

This footage is sure to further promote Cork city, which is already one of Ireland’s most visited destinations for people taking a vacation in Ireland. Cork city, renowned for its culinary flair and vibrant cultural scene was listed by the Lonely Planet Guide among the top ten cities for “Best in Travel in 2010”. The guide praised Cork saying “Cork is at the top of its game right now: sophisticated, vibrant and diverse, while still retaining its friendliness, relaxed charm and quick-fire wit.’
