Last night, coinciding with the opening day of the Savour Kilkenny Festival of Food, which runs over the bank holiday weekend finishing on Monday 29th October, a Kilkenny Food Trail Guide was launched, which is aimed at bringing lovers of food on a journey around Kilkenny’s artisan producers and food outlets.
The Taste of Kilkenny Guide highlights crafts people, the many walking and cycling routes on the trial and features 34 of Kilkenny’s food producers, restaurants, cafes, speciality food shops and cookery schools.
Food Critic and Bridgestone Guide author John McKenna launched the guide, which was co-funded by the Kilkenny Leader Partnership, and is hoped to be a valuable asset for locals, visitors from all over Ireland or overseas here on vacation in Ireland, in helping to discover and experience the artisan food industry within Kilkenny.
