The current world and European champions Spain were unsurprisingly announced as the current holders of the number one spot in the FIFA rankings yesterday. The Republic of Ireland were placed at the number 28 spot.
Germany kept the second position with Portugal claiming the third spot. Argentina are in fourth while England drop two places to take the fifth spot. Holland, Uruguay and Italy claim the sixth, seventh and eighth positions while Columbia are up 13 places to ninth with Greece at number 10.
Our neighbors in Scotland fall nine places as they come in at number 56th as Wales take the 57th position. Northern Ireland move up 12 spots to 117th.
