The Great Ireland Run 2013

The world of athletics will be focusing on the Phoenix Park in Dublin this April as excited adults and children from across the globe gather for the Great Ireland Run, now in its eleventh year. Firmly established as Ireland’s leading running event, the Great Ireland Run will be taking place on Sunday, 14th April.

As the only running event in Ireland recognised by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), the 10k road race is certainly one of the highlights of the Dublin sporting calendar. The event will also be televised live across Ireland on the national broadcaster RTE from 1.00 p.m. Entry fees for adults are €29 (£28) while the Junior & Mini Entry fee is €10 (£10).

Together with a collection of the world’s finest athletes will be thousands of runners of all abilities and enthusiastic children raring to go. Olympic athletes are sure to be an inspiring presence, but it’s always the younger ones’ that really add to the fun of the weekend.

Thousands of enthusiastic runners of all ages and abilities will compete alongside some of the world’s finest athletes including some recognisable faces from the recent summer Olympics in London. Some familiar faces from television and film will also be donning their trainers to leave some participants starry eyed whilst others can get autographs and pose for pictures.

The race’s popularity and international reach was evident last year with nearly 1,000 entrants travelling from all corners of the globe, choosing to compete in this event whilst here on vacation in Ireland, and as this year’s race promises to be even bigger and better – it’s not to be missed!
