For the past four years Clifden, the largest town in Connemara, County Galway has held a Traditional Music Festival. A great weekend of music, singing and dancing happening from 4th – 7th April, there will be an official opening concert at the Clifden Station House Hotel on the Friday from 7pm with more great music and dance sessions throughout various locations in Clifden Town after.
There is plenty of fantastic music and dance to be enjoyed and participate in over the weekend, including music and dance workshops for all ages, pub music sessions for the many local and visiting performers, and special guest headliners and one of Ireland’s leading Traditional Music acts, Téada with Seamus Begley performing on the outdoor stage, the “Gig Rig” on Market Square from 7:30pm on the Saturday. Closing the weekend, there will be a Traditional Sunday Music Mass in the morning and a farewell session in Foyles Hotel on the Sunday from the afternoon.
