Ireland’s answer to the Orient Express

Travelling around Ireland is set to be transformed thanks to Ireland’s answer to the world-famous Orient Express. Ever wanted an accessible and comfortable way to enjoy a vacation in Ireland? Now this is your chance with the opening of this luxurious railway transport.

The beauty of this form of touring Ireland is that you can avoid traffic jams, confusing GPS directions, the reliance on Irish road signs or the countless narrows byroads winding their way around the Irish countryside.

It is anticipated that the luxury rail service will be introduced to the Irish Rail Network in August 2016 will see the introduction of the luxurious train cruise to be known as The Belmond Grand Hibernian. The service will offer a selection of two-night, four-night or six-night cruises across the scenic Irish landscape and if the promotional video is anything to go by, Ireland could witness a new travel-by-train revolution.

Cruises will transport passengers between Ireland’s capital, Dublin, and Belfast in Northern Ireland. There will also be a two-night package which includes an excursion from Dublin to Cork, Killarney and Galway on a four-night exploration or a combination of the two is packed into a six-night journey.

Those lucky enough to step aboard the Grand Hibernian can expect a retrofitted 11-car, five-star train, fitted with 20 luxury cabins. They’ll certainly be no standing only space left on this train either as maximum passenger capacity is set at 40 people for each trip.

The announcement of the new luxury rail service will also see a big boost to the Irish jobs market with as many as 50 jobs expected to be created for Irish rail staff.
