The food capital of Ireland, West Cork and its food producers have an accolade of awards for their fantastic food and the events during the festival will showcase these in many different ways. Those in search of a restaurant in Skibbereen or its surrounding areas will not be disappointed. Whether choosing to sample the produce at one of the events in the local participating restaurants, looking to hear about the foods in the many workshops, talks and trails, or perhaps meeting the producers at one of the many farm visits or famers markets, a Taste of West Cork is a must for all foodies!
Year-on-year this wonderful festival has grown in popularity and continually offers a range of family friendly food related events, and this year – the year of the Irish Gathering – as it celebrates its 10th anniversary, festival organisers are giving all visitors on Ireland Vacations that travel to the area for the event the opportunity to enjoy a free lunch!
All you need to do to avail of your free lunch is to visit the Hub/Festival Box office and show them proof of travel to West Cork (either plane ticket, ferry ticket and/or proof of paid accommodation in the area). Visitors will then be issued with vouchers that are redeemable for a ‘free’ lunch from one of approximately 20 participating restaurants in the area.
