Increase in Overseas Visitors to Ireland

New figures which have just been released by Ireland’s Central Statistics Office show that overseas visitors have increased by 17% from December to February inclusive. This increase stems from various markets including North America where visits rose by 13%. Additionally the Great Britain market rose by 21.2% whereas visitors from mainland Europe increased by 14%.

Inchydoney Beach in Clonakilty named Ireland’s best beach by Tripadvisor

If you are looking to take a vacation in Ireland, Tripadvisor have just announced its users’ favourite beaches from all over the world, including the top 10 beaches in Ireland.

In the survey Clonakilty’s Inchydoney Beach came top of the list and it was described as “glorious and unspoiled”. Also four beaches in Kerry dominated the top ten list including Derrynane Beach, Inch Beach, Rossbeigh Beach and Banna Beach.

Seachtain na Gaeilge – Ireland’s largest Irish language festival

Visitor growth in 2016 expected to deliver €4.4 billion to economy

It is estimated that more than eight million tourists are expected to take a vacation in Ireland next year as the latest Star Wars film effect will help bring a €4 billion boost to the Irish economy.

Tourism Ireland has just launched its marketing drive in a bid to promote the island of Ireland abroad in 2016 and its aim is to surpass the growth seen in 2015. They are aiming to bring in an estimated 8.2 million visitors in 2016 and this figure would represent an increase of 4% on 2015, delivering over €4.4 billion to the economy.
