Spend from Great Britain visitors to Ireland up by 18%

Tourists visiting Ireland from Great Britain spent €33 million more between January and March 2016 than in the same period in 2015, making a vast increase of 18%. In this period, British tourists were found to have spent €214 million in the first three months of 2016 compared to €181 million during the same period in 2015.

2+ million French to read all about Kerry and the Wild Atlantic Way

County Kerry will be playing host to seven respected French travel and lifestyle journalists who are visiting The Kingdom, as guests of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland, during the first week of April. Representing various online and print publications, with a combined readership of more than 2 million, the journalists travelled from the French port of Roscoff to Cork by boat and then onwards to Kerry.

According to the Central Statistics Office (CSO) there is an increase in 16.6 percent in the overall number of foreign visitors taking vacations in Ireland between January and March compared to the same period in 2015.

2016 Cork International Choral Festival

Cork is set to come alive in the next few days with the arrival of nearly 5,000 singers from all over the world for the 62nd Cork Choral Festival, which kicks off today until the 1st May.

As part of the event there will be 6 ticketed gala events, as well as nearly 100 free events taking place throughout the city including Friendship Concerts, Fringe Concerts, a Choral Trail and a Symposium.

Smithwick’s Kilkenny Roots Festival

Ireland’s most popular Roots/Americana festival returns to the city of Kilkenny for its 18th instalment with a host of acts from both home and abroad at venues throughout the city. The Kilkenny Roots Festival takes placed between the 29th April and 2nd May 2016.

The Kilkenny Roots Festival first took place back in 1998 and ever since has brought the very best in Roots music to Ireland including many acts that have gone on to be global hits.
