Visitor number increase year to date for Ireland’s top attractions

Continuing with last year’s tourism growth, Ireland’s top attractions are seeing visitor numbers of people taking a vacation in Ireland up about 10% so far this year. These top attractions are notably seeing a rise in British visitors taking a trip to Ireland, the first increase since the recession first hit.

Tralee prepares to select its 2014 Rose

One of Ireland’s largest and most recognisable festivals suitable for the whole family is the Rose of Tralee International Festival which takes place annually in the town of Tralee in County Kerry. Since its inception in 1959, the festival has aimed to connect the vast global Irish community through the process of selecting a Rose of Tralee each year. The 2014 festival takes place between the 15th and 19th August.

Tourism study reveals visitor views of Irish vacation hotspots

During 2013, Fáilte Ireland sought the views of tourists and visitors to Ireland as a way of gaining some insight into their perspective of the country and its regional destinations.

The report entitled the Fáilte Ireland Holidaymaker Study 2013 comprised the analysis of the views of up to 10,000 overseas and domestic holidaymakers who visited 11 holiday areas across during Ireland vacations between May and October 2013.

2014 has seen steady growth in visitors to Ireland

There was some positive news recently after figures published by the Central Statistics Office of Ireland showed that the number of visitors who planned Ireland vacations increased during the first half of 2014.

The encouraging tourism figures, welcomed by Tourism Ireland, showed an increase of almost 10% in the numbers of overseas figures planning trips to Ireland for the first six months of 2014, resulting in an additional 324,400 visitors in comparison to the same period in 2013.

Spraoi International Festival of Street Arts

Waterford City has been hosting the renowned Spraoi International Street Arts Festival since 1993.  During this three day festival, which runs from the 1st to the 3rd of August,  residents of this medieval city take to the streets of Waterford and enjoy an international programme of street arts and spectacle where the majority of events are free.
