Perfect Six Nations farewell for Ireland’s Brian O’Drsicoll

The Ireland national rugby team gave their retiring hero Brian O’Driscoll the perfect send off after they defeated France 22-20 at the Stade de France in Paris on Saturday. The victory meant that Ireland were crowned as 2014 RBS Six Nations champions on points difference from old rivals England.

Worldwide iconic sites go green for St. Patrick’s Day

Over 70 iconic sites worldwide joined in on the St. Patrick’s Day festivities by going green for the day.  Each year a host of landmarks go “green” to mark the day with the famous Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janerio, Brazil amongst others going green for the first time ever.

Liam Neeson helps promote his native Northern Ireland

Hollywood star Liam Neeson has taken a new role as a travel spokesman and is helping to promoting his native Northern Ireland as a tourist destination.

The ‘Taken’ star has added his voice to the Northern Ireland Tourist Board’s latest advertising campaign, which also features appearances by Pulp Fiction’s Bronagh Gallagher and Hothouse Flowers singer Liam O Maonlai; with the aim of increasing Ireland vacations.

Ireland voted top destination by Chinese

IRELAND has been named the “best potential destination” by China’s largest online travel agent at the fifth annual Ctrip major awards ceremony which took place in Shanghai, China last weekend. Ctrip is China’s largest online travel agency, and the awards were voted on by almost three million members of the travel agency’s website who nominated their favourite travel destination. The awards ceremony was attended by 300 guests including airlines, tour operators, travel agents and travel media from China.
