Ireland’s hottest classical music trio of Declan Kelly, Ray O’Hare, and Dominic McGorian are three Irish singers that need no introduction having performed concerts in all 32 counties of Ireland and further afield. ‘Pilgrim Paths’ Ireland’s answer to Camino de Santiago

For those who are familiar with Camino de Santiago will know about its religious history, beautiful scenery and popularity for drawing tourists. For those who aren’t familiar, Camino de Santiago is an ancient path in northern Spain where Santo Iago (St James) one of the 12 apostles was carried across to his final resting place under what is now the Grand Cathedral of Santiago de Campostela, which marks the end of the Camino trail. Legend has it that whoever faithfully completes this trail will be forgiven of all sins and thousands of tourists are attracted to the site every year.

Now in Ireland 10 ancient ‘Pilgrim Paths’ have been flagged as Ireland’s answer to the Camino de Santiago, with the hope that visitors from far and wide will make the trip to Ireland as they did back in medieval times.

Carlingford prepares for the National Leprechaun Hunt

Not many people have heard of the town of Carlingford in County Louth but it is a magical place steeped in mystery. In fact there’s an old tale that 20 years ago a well known business man called PJ O’Hare heard faint crying while walking one day on The Slieve Foy Mountain. He followed the sound to investigate further and to his amazement he found the bones of a remarkably small person along with the suit of a Leprechaun and some gold coins.

Queen welcomes Britain’s Irish community to Buckingham Palace

The Queen of England opens the doors of Buckingham Palace this week to welcome over 300 guests representing the Irish community in Britain. Guests to the Palace on the night ranged from Irish music stars to politicians and celebrities to community champions.

The special gathering was organised in recognition of the significant contribution the Irish community has made to life in Britain. The event was hosted by Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh and kicked off a series of celebrations marking next month’s state visit to Britain by the Irish President Michael D Higgins.

Ireland hits the heights of Hollywood

The Irish Government’s Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht revealed that film and television production has increased by almost 42% since the start of 2011, aided significantly by the increased number of international TV dramas being shot in Ireland.
