Aer Lingus announce Cork Airport Expansion

Aer Lingus Regional, which is operated by Aer Arann, has today announced that it is to significantly expand its services at Cork Airport, including the addition of 50,000 seats.

The airline said it expects to grow total passenger numbers by 20% from Cork to over 300,000 by the end of next year.

Aer Arann’s chief commercial officer, Simon Fagan, said its Cork expansion programme was a key part of the airline’s growth plan, and will provide further choice for passengers.

“Our decision to move ahead with expansion in Cork is directly related to the recent Government decision to abolish the travel tax, and is further evidence that sound policies can contribute to solid growth.”

The growth of the airport along with the vast choice of hotels near Cork airport makes it a central hub for people coming in and out of Ireland on a vacation.
