8 million visitors to Ireland expected by Tourism Ireland

According to Tourism Ireland, The Gathering helped to increase trips to Ireland by 7.2 percent compared with 2012. Positive figures for vacations to Ireland

Figures released by the Irish Central Statistics Office provided some good news for the Irish tourism industry with a significant growth in the number of Ireland vacations so far this year.

More than six million people travelled to Ireland in the first nine months of the year. In total 413,800 visitors made trips to Ireland which represents a 6.8% increase on the same period in 2012.   Continue reading

Wannabe Irish stars audition for role in new Star Wars film

You would be mistaken for believing you had walked into another world indeed galaxy if you happened upon the grounds of Croke Park in Dublin on Saturday as Imperial Stormtroopers (of the intergalactic out of this world movie kind) patrolled the grounds guiding and entertaining the thousands of Irishmen and women who showed up. Heartache for the Irish as the All Blacks snatch victory from the jaws of defeat

It was heartbreak and amazement as Ireland oh so narrowly missed out on a famous victory over the All Blacks in their match yesterday at Aviva Stadium. An injury time last minute conversion from New Zealand though cruelly denied Ireland both a historic and magnificent victory with the Irish side losing 24-22 at the final whistle. Ireland all set to face the mighty All Blacks

The Irish rugby team have been preparing extra hard to face the mighty All Blacks at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Sunday in the final match of the Autumn International series.  Following their disappointing performance against Australia on Saturday, there has been a real sense that the squad are determined to put things right.
