The 85th Oscars will take place this weekend on Sunday 24th February and as the ceremony continually grew in size and grandeur, it has since 2011 been held  in Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre, just steps from the historic Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.

Book Club Festival, Ennis, Co. Clare

From March 1st to 3rd 2013, the unique Ennis Book Club Festival will take place in the town of Ennis, Co. Clare. The festival aims to promote the enjoyment of reading and it also wishes to encourage avid readers to expand their scope and broaden their horizons.

The festival includes workshops on reading fiction, poetry, sessions on reading lists and revisiting classics, reading group development seminars, professional development seminars for librarians, public interviews with authors, panel discussions, food demos, and exhibitions. Ted Fest Returns

For those of you who are fans of the legendary Irish comedy show, Father Ted, you will be delighted to know that the popular ‘Ted Fest’ festival is returning for 2013.

From Feburary 21st to 24th, Inis Mór, Aran Islands, Co. Galway is the place to be as it becomes Craggy Island for the weekend long event. The festival will have events including the Lovely Girls Contest, Ted’s Got Talent and The Craggy Cup. Galway city, a popular Ireland vacations location, will also host some events on the lead up to the weekend under the clever guise of ‘Trip to the Mainland’.

The Who and Fleetwood Mac to perform in Ireland

Exciting news as both The Who and Fleetwood Mac have recently announced tour dates in Ireland.

Oxegen returns for August bank holiday weekend

After a one year break, the popular music festival Oxegen returns to Punchestown Racecourse in Kildare but with some significant changes to its format! The first big change is that it will take place over the August Bank Holiday weekend, as oppose to a weekend in July and the second big change is that it will take place over 2 days instead of 3 as before!
