Success for Ireland Talent at the BAFTAs

Ireland might not had been celebrating success at the Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on Saturday night in Azerbaijan and saw Jedward finish in the bottom half of the table and Sweden crowned Eurovision winners. But we were celebrating on Sunday night, as Irish talent won a host of prestigious BAFTAs at the ceremony in London.

The Nice Weather has Returned!

The warm weather has returned to us here in Ireland we plan on making the most of it!! Picnics, sun-bathing, trips to the beach, ice creams in the sun and all the other things people take for granted in some of the more exotic places in the world, will be crammed into these few days as the rays are well and truly soaked up.

Irish Sport is Smiling

This summer is shaping up to be a real thriller for Irish Sport as we have plenty to look forward to! We have the Olympics just across the water as well a place for Euro 2012 secured.

The European football championship will be hosted in Ukraine and Poland. Ireland secured a place at Euro 2012 last year and have been placed in Group C along with Spain, Italy and Croatia. The first match of the event takes place on June 8th as Poland takes on Greece at the National Stadium in Warsaw. Ireland’s first match is on Sunday June 10th, as Ireland takes on Croatia at the Stadion Miejski which is located in Poznań. The championship will finish up on July 1st where after weeks of matches, a winner will be determined. Continue reading

June Bank Holiday Weekend Music Festival attracts big names

Ireland’s Bank Holiday Weekend at the start of June always has an array of activities for all up and down the country. However one popular music event happening in the South East of Ireland and that is attracting big names from the music industry is Strawberry Fest 2012, which is a new take on one of Irelands longest established town festivals and will for the weekend of 1st -3rd June take over the town of Enniscorthy.

Guns N’ Roses Return to Ireland

Tonight Guns N’ Roses will once again take to the stage at the O2 in Dublin. May 17th  marks their fourth show in Ireland. Lead singer Axl Rose suffered an injury after his second show in Russia last Saturday night. The multi award winning band will be supported by Irish rock band Thin Lizzy.

A source close to the band said: “Axl needed medical attention for a nasty leg injury and was unable to fly with the rest of the band.” Rose will need to recover fast as the tour continues onwards to Nottingham, Liverpool, Newcastle, Glasgow, Birmingham and Manchester and London across the next two weeks.
