Puck Fair in Ireland celebrates its 400th anniversary

When:  Starts August 9th 2013

Where: Killorglin, Ireland

Have you ever been to a festival that makes a goat king of a town for 4 days? Well now is your chance as you experience one of Ireland’s oldest festivals. As this year is the 400th anniversary, the festival has been extended to 4 days (it normally runs for 3 days). Many of the traditional elements of the fair are still very strong. The highlight without doubt, is the horse fair which is held on the first day. The Queen of Puck will crown the King Puck goat at a coronation ceremony as well as a parade through the town are just some of the traditional sights you will see.

There will be plenty of things to see and do across the fair for people of all ages. Interests of every shape and form will be catered for at this 4 day event. Concerts and céilís along with a fireworks display at midnight on the final night are just some of the other exciting things you will find at this very special fair on your Ireland vacation.
