Dublin is ranked second friendliest city in the world by Condé Nast

Dublin has been voted the second friendliest city in the world by readers of the prestigious and top international travel magazine Condé Nast.

Rising from fifth position in 2014, Dublin was tipped to the top by sunny Sydney, Australia however it also beat off the popular towns and cities of Queenstown in New Zealand, Kraków, Poland and Bruges in Brussels.

Increase in visitors to Ireland in first six months of 2015

Latest figures from the Central Statistics Office show that Ireland is heading for it’s best ever year of tourism due to the massive increase in the number of visitors taking a vacation in Ireland during the first six months of 2015.

Latest figures just released by the Central Statistics Office have revealed a 11% increase in the number of overseas visitors taking a trip to Ireland between January and June of 2015 when compared to 2014.

Ireland’s remote beauty spots to be captured for Google Street View

Some of Ireland’s more remote and scenic landscapes will be captured for Google Street View using their Trekker over the next three months. Failte Ireland is undertaking the project by borrowing the Google Trekker which is a wearable backpack with a camera system on top.

Record July passenger numbers through Dublin Airport

Dublin Airport experienced record numbers of passengers for the month of July 2015 with over two and a half million passengers through its terminals. This marked the first time in the airport’s 75-year history that such a large volume of passengers have used Dublin City‘s international airport in a month.

LA Times feature on the spectacular West Cork region

The West Cork region is known for boasting some of Ireland’s most stunningly beautiful, scenic and rugged coastline. The area attracts many people taking a vacation in Ireland due to the fantastic whale watching and sea kayaking and coastal walking opportunities it offers.
