JFK planned private family vacation to Ireland

It has been revealed that the late American President John F Kennedy had planned a private family vacation in Ireland to visit his ancestral homestead in Dunganstown, County Wexford. Christmas Markets in Ireland 2013

There are a host of Christmas markets taking place this year in Ireland. Taking inspiration from the markets in Prague and Munich, the Lodge at Doonberg, Co. Clare will be hosting their annual Christmas market which is expected to be even bigger than last year.

The courtyard at Doonbeg will be transformed into an old world town square. Like last year, the square will be packed with stalls full of Christmas gifts, crafts and the smell of roasting gingerbread will tempt you to indulge in one of the many festive treats on offer. The market also doubles up as a wonderland for kids with Santa’s station which understandably is always a popular choice. Continue reading

Christmas in Ireland – Limerick Christmas Racing Festival 2013

Looking for something to do between Christmas and New Years? From the 26th of December to the 29th, Limerick race course will play host to an impressive line up of racing events. Feature races include the Greenmount Novice Chase which was won by Sir Des Champs last year, who also won at Cheltenham. The other race not to be missed is the Tim Duggan Memorial Handicap Chase which was won by Seabass who went on to be third in the Aintree Grand National. Continue reading

Rugby Player Brian O’ Driscoll is named Ireland’s most admired Sports Star 2013

Irish rugby hero Brian O’ Driscoll has been voted the most admired sports star of 2013 in Ireland. O’ Driscoll returned to the top spot in 2013 having topped the poll in four out of five years. O’ Driscoll lost out to Irish boxer Katie Taylor, who took the top spot in 2012 following her tremendous success.
