Tourism Ireland welcoming growth of 11.6% in overseas visitors to Ireland

According to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office, nearly 8.3 million people took a vacation in Ireland in the first ten months of 2016 which equates to an increase of 11.6% on the same period in 2016. October alone say more than 830,000 arrivals to Ireland.

The Success of Fáilte Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way Campaign

Since its launch in 2014, The Wild Atlantic Way has been a major success story for Fáilte Ireland. Less than one year later, Ireland saw its best year ever for overseas tourism, with people from all over the world enchanted by the west coast’s rugged charm and breath-taking hotspots.

CSO figures for 2015 indicated that the number of people taking a vacation in Ireland were up 11 per cent resulting in over €4.2 billion in revenue to the local economy. With a further €300,000 investment in the pipeline for one of the Aran Islands, Inishmore is set to reap even more benefits from the development of a restaurant, takeaway and prime building site.

Ireland’s Top Hotels and Restaurants at the Georgina Campbell Awards

Donegal’s popular Harvey’s Point was recently announced as Ireland’s Hotel of the Year at the 2017 Georgina Campbell Awards. The popular Donegal four-star hotel, also Ireland’s No.1 on TripAdvisor won the prestigious award for its stunning location and accommodation facilities as well as its fine dining waterside restaurant.
